Dr. Chang speaks English and Cantonese

Dr. Chang graduated from the University of Alberta and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1988. He practiced dentistry in Calgary for 22 years prior to moving Red Deer in 2011. With 30 years of comprehensive experience in dentistry, Dr. Chang has been taking care of his patient at Image Dental Care with his special training in orthodontics, sedation, and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Chang strives for excellence in all aspects of his career, with passion in dentistry along with extensive continuing education in implants, orthodontics, complicated procedures, sedation, and more. Dr. Chang always learns from the best in the industry.

Dr. Chang believes in giving back by going on dental missions to third world countries. Most recently he participated in a three-week dental mission trip to Bhutan with a group of dentists.

Dr. Chang is married with two kids. He enjoys running, hiking and watching movies in his spare time with his family.

Dentist

Dr. Blake Moore was born and raised in Ontario’s “cottage country” region in the city of Orillia. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree through studies at both Western University in Ontario and Otago University in New Zealand. In addition, Dr. Moore completed two years of undergraduate sciences at the University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus in Camrose, where he received the Kevin Bruce Hall Memorial Scholarship for academic excellence. Dr. Moore received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University where he was an active member in both the Aesthetic and Oral and Maxillofacial surgery student organizations.

Dr. Moore enjoys giving back to the community and has participated in a number of oral health outreaches, specifically with a focus on underserved and pediatric populations. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and believes building a long-lasting, trusting relationship with patients is central to providing quality comprehensive care. When not in the office, Dr. Moore enjoys Nordic skiing, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Dr. Rafaella Shammas has been practicing at Image Dental Care since December 2022. A graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy, Dr. Shammas prioritizes her patients’ needs, listens attentively to their concerns, and makes each visit as comfortable and efficient as possible.

Outside of work, Dr. Shammas loves capturing life's special moments through photography, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Dentist

Dr. Trca has been practicing at Image Dental Care since July 2022. She grew up in central Alberta and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Health Science from Mount Royal University in 2018. She then went on to receive her DDS degree from the University of Alberta in 2022, contributing much to the university by volunteering for various committees during her time there. Serving as the Vice President Internal of the Dental Students Association for two years and Co-Chair of Women’s Empowerment Lunch and Learn group for three years, Dr. Trca has demonstrated her commitment to bettering higher education.

In 2020, Dr. Trca married her high school sweetheart and delights in outdoor activities such as biking, kayaking, hiking, backpacking, quadding, and camping during the summer months. During wintertime she enjoys indulging in cozy reads around the fire or crafting with friends and family.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Sarah is one of our Dental Hygienists. She's been with our team since March 2014 and in the field of dentistry since 2012.

Sarah loves that they get to help people become healthier. She focuses on preventative dentistry and guides her patients to achieve their oral health goals.

When not in the office, Sarah spends time building furniture and making jewelry. She also loves snowboarding and being in her happy place, the great outdoors.

Clinical Manager

Swita speaks English and Farsi.

Swita joined our team in July 2014 as our Dental Assistant. She has been in the field of dentistry for ten years now.

What Swita loves the most about her job is seeing patients smile. She believes that she's able to provide patients the highest quality dental care in a comfortable, relaxed, and friendly environment.

When not in the office, you'll find Swita reading, walking, or playing soccer games.

Registered Dental Assistant

Jessica joined us in October 2014 as one of our Dental Assistants. She has been in the field of dentistry since 2006.

She loves being able to help patients regularly - by enhancing their smile or making their dental experience calmer and more comfortable.

Jessica believes that good dental health is crucial in achieving overall health, and she’s happy and grateful to be one with patients in their journey to a better smile.

When not in the office, Jessica loves spending fun times with her family. She also likes camping, going on RZR adventures, and swimming.

Dental Administrator

Amanda has been with our team since December 2016 as our Dental Administrator. She has been in the field of dentistry for four years.

She feels she helps patients best by maintaining a comfortable, relaxed, and friendly environment. She loves interacting with patients and learning more about them.

Amanda feels that making patients feel welcomed and getting closer with them make them more eager to come back.

When not assisting patients in the office, Amanda spends time with her husband and two daughters. She loves playing golf and working on anything wedding-related.

Dental Administrator

Seline is our Dental Administrator. She’s been with our team since 2018 and in the field of dentistry for five years now.

To Seline, patients always come first. She feels she helps them best with compassion, communication, and care. She loves working with the team and feels that patients ultimately become family as well.

When not in the office, Seline spends time with her family. She also reads novels and watches Korean dramas.

Dental Administrator

Leanne is one of our Dental Administrators and Dental Assistants here at Image Dental. She’s been part of our team since April 2016 and has been in the field of dentistry for five years now.

Leanne loves her job as it allows her to assist and interact with people. She enjoys making connections by helping patients understand their dental needs better and making them feel more relaxed.

Outside of work, Leanne spends time with her husband, son, and two dogs. She also loves camping and baking.

Registered Dental Assistant

Madie has been taking care of patients as our Dental Assistant since September 2019. She has been in the field of dentistry for over a year now.

Madie feels she can connect with patients best when she understands their concerns and dental anxieties. She loves being able to help people in the medical field and seeing patients become happy with their smile.

When not working with patients and her colleagues, Madie spends time with her fiancé and puppy. She likes bonding with her family and going snowboarding.

Registered Dental Assistant

Virgie has been one of our Dental Assistants since July 2019. She has been in the dental field for four years now.

Virgie feels she is helping patients best when she’s able to provide them with the information they need. She enjoys serving and educating people.

When not in the office, Virgie spends time cooking and reading. She also loves listening to music, mostly love and worship songs.

Sterilizer Tech

Angelika has been a part of the Image Dental team since March 2022. Angelika loves interacting with patients and strives to provide the best care possible. She feels that she can relate to patients best when she puts herself in their shoes.

When Angelika is not at work, she enjoys listening to music and going on trips.

Heather speaks English and Spanish.

Heather has been with Image Dental since June 2019 as our Dental Hygienist. She has been in the industry for six years.

She feels she helps patients best by providing an open and relaxed atmosphere whenever they have questions, concerns, or apprehensions about treatments. She enjoys connecting with people – seeing them smile and learning more about their culture.

When not in the office, Heather spends time backpacking as a traveler and camping outdoors. She also loves Latin dancing and cooking.

Dental Administrator

Jaime has been with our Administration team since January 2020. She’s been in the field of dentistry since 2015.

Jamie enjoys working with and getting to know patients more. To her, welcoming patients back at the office is like catching up with friends. She loves serving customers and is happy to be part of a great staff.

She tries her best to help patients in any way she can - answering questions they have and making them feel more relaxed, especially if they’re nervous about being in the dental office.

When not in the office, Jaime spends time golfing and engaging in fitness activities.

Jamie lives on Acreage and enjoys being surrounded by animals. They have three Nigerian Dwarf pet goats, which she describes as very gentle and similar to owning dogs in many ways. They also have six chickens, where they’ve been happily sourcing their fresh eggs from.

Carlee joined is one of our Dental Hygienists here at Image Dental. She joined our team in January 2019 and has been in the field of dentistry for three years now.

Carlee takes a holistic approach to treating her patients and stresses oral health as an important part of overall health.

Carlee enjoys her job as she loves caring for people. She strives to help her patients achieve a happy, healthy smile.

When away from work, Carlee spends time hiking, biking, running, doing yoga, and skiing.

Bethany joined our team in February 2020 as our Dental Assistant. She has been in the dental field for over a year now.

Bethany loves caring for her patients and enjoys assisting in complicated wisdom teeth extractions and IV sedation.

Outside of work, Bethany enjoys running, hiking and spending time with her dog, Theodore.

Melissa is one or our Admin. She’s been with our team since November 2018.

Melissa is passionate about her job and enjoys making patients feel at ease in the office.

When not in the office you can find her playing videogames and playing with her puppy, Daisy.

Amie has been a dental administrator with Image Dental Care since February of 2022. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, quading, and bike rides with her husband and three kids in the summer months; and snowboarding & snowmobiling in the winter months. Amie feels like she can help patients best when she understands their concerns and fears.
